Educational Enrichment E2 Grants

Greenfield Central School Foundation (GCSF) Educational Enrichment (E²) Grants are intended to support programs and projects by staff within the classroom or in an after-school setting. The grants focus on innovative ways to enhance student learning and achievement through educational resources and experiences designed to augment learning for G-C students.

GCSF E² Grants have funded technology such as Chromebooks and iPads, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activities, reading programs, exploration of post secondary education and career opportunities and much more.

GCSF recognizes the unique learning opportunities our teachers provide and continue to fund creative and resourceful programs and tools through E² grants.

E2 Grant Success Stories

A Project Lead the Way Mentor was able to develop an engineering presentation for the sixth-grade level. Bringing in students, especially girls, for a day to encourage future studies in engineering. The project involved designing and building towers with only marshmallows and uncooked spaghetti noodles. At the day’s end, the tallest tower stood at 110 cm, or just a little over three feet!

E2 Grant Applications

The GCSF Educational Enrichment (E²) Grants benefit students, teachers and schools within the Greenfield-Central Community School Corporation. E² Grants are intended to support programs/projects provided by G-C staff within the classroom or in an after school setting which focus on innovative ways to enhance student learning and achievement. The GCSF mission is: Connecting The Community To The Classroom.

E² Grant Criteria:

  • Creates opportunities for student learning and achievement
  • Uses innovative approaches to program/project.
  • Demonstrates the number of students involved and/or impacted by program/project.
  • Shows attainable goals and outcomes for all targeted students.

It is recommended that grant requests be in the funding range of $300 to $700; however, GCSF will evaluate the merit of each request as submitted. All applications must be complete, including a detailed budget and supporting documentation of costs. Incentives, including prizes and food, can only be 10% or less of the total grant request. Grants cannot reimburse for costs previously incurred. Persons receiving E² Grants will be expected to mention the Greenfield Central School Foundation in all publicity concerning their grant. Final Grant Reports must be completed and forwarded to the GCSF Executive Director at the conclusion of the school year to qualify for future GCSF grants. Grant recipients must notify the GCSF Executive Director as soon as possible if more than 50% of the grant award will not be spent or the recipient may be ineligible for future grants.

Maxwell Intermediate Cougarbots is an afterschool program focused on VEX IQ Robotics.  Student learn how to design, build and program robots to compete with robots from other schools.
